Inauguration of
International Centre of English
We are 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 at the National University of Timor-Leste (UNTL) on March 18th, 2026.
We were honoured to welcome 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐬𝐨𝐧, 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡, who flew in from the UK to inaugurate the centre. Direct English is a world leader in CEFR-aligned English language learning programs and AVM TL is a Master Franchise of Direct English for Timor-Leste. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦, 𝐉𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐢𝐯𝐚 𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐮𝐣𝐨, also graced the occasion with his presence.
The ceremony was marked by speeches from the chief guest and presentations by the AVM TL team members. A highlight of the event was a charming dance performance by students from Batch II of our English Program.
